Commencement 2024
Commencement 2024 took place Sunday, May 19, 2024 in Ed Robson Arena on the CC campus. Frieda Ekotto ’86 presented the Commencement address.
CC's Commencement Ceremony on May 19 wrapped up the end of year celebrations for the Class of 2024, which included Senior Prom, Champagne Showers, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. Congrats graduates! We can't wait to see how you change the world! Video by Skyler Ballard

Commencement
The college was pleased to welcome Frieda Ekotto ’86 back to campus to deliver the 2024 Commencement address. Ekotto is the Lorna Goodison Collegiate Professor of Afro-American and African Studies, Comparative Literature, and Francophone Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
In 1986, Ekotto became the first African woman to graduate from Colorado College. She went on to earn a Ph.D. in French and Comparative Literature from the University of Minnesota and began teaching in 1994 at the University of Michigan. Baccalaureate
Baccalaureate took place on Saturday, May 18th at 3 p.m. in Shove Memorial Chapel.
Rebecca Garcia, CC Professor of Mathematics, was this year's Baccalaureate speaker. Each year, graduating seniors nominate a faculty member to deliver the Baccalaureate address. Professor Garcia’s nomination offered praise for her inclusive philosophy, honor of unique talents, and commitment to advocating for students.
Honorary Degree
CC is pleased to present Jim Rosenthal '70 with an Honorary Degree during the 2024 Commencement ceremony. Honorary Degrees are awarded to individuals who have rendered distinguished service to society or made extraordinary achievements in their own profession.
